Our Location

The UU Church in Jamaica Plain is located at 6 Eliot Street, in the heart of Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood. Our historic stone Gothic revival building is across from the Soldiers’ Monument at the corner of Centre Street and South Street.

Entrances

On Sunday mornings in the winter, and during the week, we use the entrance on Eliot Street, on the side of the building. This entrance has a wheelchair-accessible ramp from the curb.

When events are held in the Sanctuary (for worship September-December, weddings, memorials, and more), we also open the Main Entrance, right under the big clock tower and facing the Monument.

Accessibility

The Sanctuary, Parish Hall, Kitchen, and Dining Room are all accessible and barrier-free for wheelchair-users via the Eliot Street ramp. There are two single-stall, non-gendered, accessible restrooms on the main floor. The church office and minister’s study are off of the stage, which requires four stairs to access (please call or email the office or Rev. Elizabeth if this is a barrier to access and we’ll arrange to meet with you in an accessible location). The room used for childcare, basement storage, Parish Hall stage, Morse Room, and Sanctuary’s chancel and pulpit all require stairs to access.

Parking

Street parking is generally available near the Church. No resident sticker is required, but please obey all posted restrictions. A municipal (City of Boston) parking lot is one block away, behind the buildings on the 700 block of Centre Street (odd-numbered side), and accessible from Burroughs Street or Thomas Street.
